FPGA industry digest: 1–8 October 2026
Seven publications cover space-grade FPGA packages, AI server control, an open accelerator, engineering simulation and EDA research.

1 October — AMD XQRVC1902
Early-access customers can obtain samples of the new space-grade package. Class Y qualification is continuing; flight-qualified units are expected in the second half of 2027.

6 October — L-Nex BMC
Logic Fruit is developing an FPGA SoC-based BMC with OpenBMC and a hardware root of trust. Production readiness is targeted for Q3 2027.

6 October — openTPU presentation
The open stack includes RTL, an ISA, a simulator, a compiler and PCIe host software. Kintex-7 results were measured by the authors on 29 September–1 October; we have not independently reproduced them.

6 October — Vinci financing
The company announced a $250 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation, with AMD Ventures among investors. Its physics simulation platform addresses hardware engineering broadly rather than FPGA alone.

7 October — Lattice and Arm
The FPGA provides control alongside the CPU and BMC, connecting HPM and DC-SCM through LTPI. A joint-solution demonstration is scheduled for OCP Global Summit on 12–15 October.
Lattice and Arm outline FPGA-based AI server control
7 October — SUSpMV
The authors report a 144.9 GFLOPS maximum for the Alveo U280 compute kernel. The 79% geometric-mean gain uses row and column shuffling; the implementation is slower than the baseline on some small matrices.

7 October — agentic EDA study
The preprint examines eight research trials. A case that selected saved solutions by input hash shows why equivalence checks need unseen tasks and evaluation of the final outcome.
